Go into Gaza

Terrorists fired more rockets at Sderot. These actually injured people, not that the mainstream media will notice.

Palestinians fired three Qassam rockets into Israel Monday evening, with one rocket falling in Sderot wounding four people.

Four residents were lightly injured from shattered glass, 11 were treated for shock, two of which suffered from heart conditions. The rocket caused an electrical blackout in a large section of the city.

One of two rockets fired earlier Monday landed south of the Nir Am junction, while the other landed near Kerem Shalom.

The injured resident was said to have suffered shrapnel wounds to his leg and was taken to the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.

The Electricity Company said the rocket cut off supply wires and engineers were working to reconnect the blacked out area.

Imagine that Mexico was firing rockets on San Diego every day. Imagine that this happened in San Diego. Now imagine what the reaction from the government would be, and tell me why Israel is not allowed to do what any other sovereign nation would do.

Olmert needs to send the troops into Gaza. Olmert needs to tell Hamas that if the rockets don’t stop, no member of Hamas will be able to sleep in the same bed two nights in a row.

Funny how Kofi Annan doesn’t seem to think that daily rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel is worthy of a condemnation statement.

Well, no, not really. What time is it? Why, every time that question is asked, no matter what time it is, it’s Israeli Double Standard Time.

The solution is simple – starve the palestinian arabs until the release is secured and the rocket fire stops. Cut off their water and electricity. Blockade them from all sides. If they want to eat, fine, airdrop a few tons of pork into Gaza city.

  4. Dan says:

Several changes need to occur in Israeli policy.

First, the dreadful idea of keeping terrorists in your prisons needs to come to swift end. They need to be hung. There are only two reasons to keep terrorists alive. One is flip them; the second is to elicit information from them.

Israel bans the death penalty in the mistaken belief that by doing so it garners international support, and that the ban provides evidence of how much Israel values human life.

    This is a ridiculous notion.

The United States values life, and has done so since its inception. But it also valued justice, and sometimes justice DEMANDS the death penalty.

Logic dictates that if the people in your prison are as evil and pathological as your spokesmen say they are, then they should have a rendezvous with the end of a rope.

However, once you began negotiationg with them, once you began trading hostages, once you began discussing the return of captured or dead soldiers, a natural confusion was inexorably going to creep into your foreign policy.

Israel is at war with jihadist islam. The terror entities presently arrayed against you are but devisings of the moment, that are designed to paralyze your response, and veil the true essence and nature of your enemy.

    You suggest going “into Gaza.”

Why go into Gaza but not the West Bank?

If your interested in wiping out the terror entities that surround you and threaten you, {and you surely should be!}, then why is southern Lebanon off your list?

It’s time that Israel cut to the chase and move, IN STRENGTH, against her enemies. Your response SHOULD BE COMPREHENSIVE.

Your tit for tat responses to terror, which go by the aim of “targeted” strikes, “targeted” hits, ONLY give your enemy the idea that he can hang and bang with you. Instead of CRUSHING his will to make war against you, you are STRENTHENING his misguided notions that HE CAN make war against you.

If the enemy is making asymetric war against you, then respond by making asymetric war against him.

    HOW?

Simple. WHOLLY SEAL OFF GAZA, not just from Israel, BUT FROM THE WORLD. Blow up the radio stations, shut down the prots, seal off the Gaza border between Sinai and Gaza. Don’t simply move into Gaza, BUT USE THE PROVOCATIONS of terror activity in Gaza to wholly strip the Palestinians of whatever weaponry they have.

Literally go through and over every inch of Palestinian territory for weaponry. Go over every thing with metal detectors.

That’s just a starter of course. Just a for instance, if you will.

But the gist of my suggestion is that Israel has to get away from the tit for tat nonsense. Cause it isn’t working, except as a recipe for protracted bloodshed and carnage.

  5. Well, there’s this little thing in Israel that prevents the death penalty for all but Nazi war criminals.

Actually, I’m with you on the death penalty for terrorists convicted of capital crimes. But not for anything else. I don’t know that Israel will ever instate the death penalty for convicted murderers, though.

As for your Gaza plan: Gee, that won’t take more than the entire IDF and all the reserves and every other force Israel has. Not to mention that it isn’t what Israelis want.

I think the continued destruction of terrorist organizations is the way to go. The IDF back off of Hamas once they won the election and started that pretend cease-fire. Time to go back to their policy of executing terrorist leaders, including the bastard hiding in Damascus, who is said to be directing the kidnappers and negotation.

Have you ever seen a more impotent Israeli government then that led by the clown Olmert and the Stalin lookalike named Amir Putz? They make Shimon Peres and Ehud Barak seem positive Churchillian.

  9. Seth says:

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing, and expecting a different result.” Israel must separate from the Palestinians once and for all, decide finally what its borders are (hello?), build whatever walls it needs to, and respond to attacks like any other country would.

More rubbish. Maybe if the Palestinian people weren’t being treated like animals and kept in the world’s biggest open air prison they wouldn’t fire rockets. No rockets were being fired until Israel began killing militants deliberatly provoking the Palestinians.

If Israel genuinely wants peace and I don’t believe they do then pull back to the Green Line.

  13. Ah. So it’s Israel’s fault because they started killing terrorists who had, gee, killed Israeli civilians. That’s why the pals send their rockets into Sderot?

So how do you account for the fact that the first kassam rocket was launched in October, 2001? The first one landing in Sderot was in February, 2002.

Let’s think back to 2001. What was happening back then? Oh, that’s right. Arafat had turned down any deal that didn’t include every single one of the same demands that have been made since 1967, and started a war.

Typical kneejerk response from the anti-Israel brigade: No facts, just pointless statements. Come back with some actual facts, and we can have a discussion.

  14. Paul Williams says:

I am not anti anybody. You try living in the squalor the pals are living in and then you’ll see. Israel has pulled out of Gaza but has sealed it off from the outside world. 68% of palestinians live on les than a dolar a day even the World Bank (stuffed with right wing Americans) has said it is Israel’s closure of the Gaza strip that has caused this for the most part. Unless and until the Palestinian people can get access to basic services and engage in economic activity then resistence to Israel will not cease.

  15. You mean like the hundreds of millions of Africans living in squalid conditions who survive on even less than the Gazans? You know, the ones with all the African suicide bombers attacking—oh, wait. There are no African suicide bombers.

The “squalor” is amazing in one respect: Every picture you see on Reuters and AP shows chubby palestinians. Why is that, I wonder?

Where did the billions that Arafat got go to? Where are the industries the Gazans built with the money the EU sent them?

There are none, because instead of building their own economy and becoming self-sufficient, Arafat stole billions and handed out the rest to his thugs.

Spare me the “root causes” argument, because it is utter bullshit.

  16. Paul Williams says:

Actually it isn’t Meryl and your refusal to see it is a microcosm of what’s wrong. Arafat was a crook but he didn’t get billions as you put it and the subsidies from the EU are small (at least compared to the billions Israel gets from the US). Trade not aid is what people want. Israel’s blockade of Palestinian directly causes most of the poverty in the occupied terratories (although not all).

As for African sucide bomers that is a lame arguement. Look at the brutality, far worse than anything seen in Israel/Palestine in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Congo just to name 3 and tell me poverty doesn’t contribute to strife.

Bottom like Meryl: Israel occupies Pal land and makes life unbearable for them. Expecting them to grin and bear it is unrealistic. They will fight back.

  17. Billions were stolen. If you don’t take Daniel Pipes word for it, then perhaps you’ll believe a CBS News report.

Arafat turned down the deal that would have given the palestinians most of the territories for a state, with negotiations later to settle the issue of Jerusalem and settlement blocs. Instead, he launched a war, which is ongoing to this day.

The kassam rocket attacks started in 2001. People like you don’t look further back than last week, and always manage to say it’s Israel’s fault.

Poverty isn’t the cause of strife. It is, however, a great cover for the real cause—which in this case is the destruction of Israel. The PLO never really changed its charter, and Hamas openly calls for Israel’s destruction in its charter, and by its people, on a regular basis.

And I say again, it’s funny that for a people who are supposed to be undergoing a humanitarian crisis, they don’t have a problem with their leaders refusing to accept $50 million in medical aid from Israel. They wanted the cash instead.

    They’re lying, and you’re buying.

  18. Paul Williams says:

Yep Daniel Pipes is real source of impartila information isn’t he? Can you quote non-American or non_israeli sources?

  19. Paul Williams says:

    “impartila” should be impartial.

  20. Oh, piss off. I gave you two separate news sources, you accepted zero. I have better things to do with my time.

  21. Paul Williams says:

I accept impartial reporting like all thinking human beings. Would you accept an Al_qaeda “fact” relating to Jews?

  22. No, you don’t. CBS News is hardly considered a pro-Israel source, and you refuse to accept it.

As there is obviously no news source about Israel you will accept that conflicts with your worldview, I repeat: Piss off.

  23. Paul Williams says:

There are plenty but Daniel Pipes is not one of them. The CBS report merely quotes sources hostile to the PA. I see it didn’t take you long to sink into vulgarity.

  24. Actually, it took several days for that to happen. You’re just never right, are you?

As for the argument: I have given you the sources. You keep moving the goalposts. I’m done.

  25. Paul Williams says:

Give me impartial sources. Simple but you can’t do it can you. I am finished. Feel free to mail me the sources. Outta here it’s been fun.

  26. Oh, bullshit. You asked for non-American sources, not just impartial. Apparently, the only sources you’ll take on whether or not Arafat stole billions from his people would be the EU report that whitewashed him, or his own newspaper editors, who get shot every time they write a negative article about Fatah.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass.
