It looks like Sean Hackbarth is falling behind, and is getting too close to last place. It also looks like I am seven votes behind my nearest neighbor, which means if a few more of you vote for me, I’ll be in fourth-to-last place instead of third-to-last place.
Hey, it makes a difference to me.
So, I have a plan: During the odd hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., you may vote for Sean Hackbarth (that’s The Americand Mind blog), and during the even hours and the rest of the day, vote for me. This way, he won’t be last, and I won’t be last, and I’ll still maintain my lead on him and probably catch up to, uh, whatever the name of the blog I’m almost caught up to is.
And vote for some of my other pals, too. Oh, go read the last post. I’m too tired to write it again.
So, have you nominated any Jewish bloggers in the JIB awards? Nominations close on Friday. I’m thinking Lair Simon for humor–oh, wait, he’s there. Someone nominated me for Best Politics and Current Affairs blog. I don’t think that’s really my blog’s main thrust. I think I’m more an advocacy blog, don’t you? Mere Rhetoric is more the political animal, if you ask me.
I’m leaning towards The Wandering Jew as my submission in Best Post category. Ex-Jews is Sol’s suggestion; any preferences out there? (Of course, “Ex-Jews” will likely bring the most discussion if I submit it… hm….)
I’ll pick some nominees over the next couple of days and then not say who I nominated, because I do try not to cause bad feeling. I know that last year, the awards were a great way to find new (to me) Jewish bloggers. Go check out the bloggers on my and other J-blog blogrolls, and if you see someone you really like, nominated them. What the heck, there are 40 slots available, and no one has yet filled up all 40.
I don’t consider what I’ve done for the past year humor.
