This article says it all about the palestinian goals regarding Israel:
Rate of Gaza Qassam fire unchanged since pullout
In the three months since the Israel Defense Forces left Gaza, Qassams have been launched at Israel on an almost daily basis. A total of 239 rockets have been fired at Israel since September 15, according to the Red Dawn warning system, which monitors Qassam launches.[…] Qassams also have begun to land in other areas of southern Israel that had not experienced rocket fire before the disengagement. Moshav Shuba, for instance, was never hit by a Qassam before the disengagement, although it was technically within range. Over the past month, however, three rockets have landed in its territory; one hit a house, damaging the building and sending residents into shock.
One reason that new areas are being hit is that the IDF knows where the old launch sites were, and keeps a threatening eye on them. This has forced the Palestinians to find new sites, which in turn produce new landing sites. Another reason is that the Palestinians now are actively aiming at the vital infrastructure facilities near Ashkelon.
And then there is this attack, which occurred just a little while ago:
Four IDF soldiers sustained light wounds and another soldier suffered light to moderate injuries after a Qassam rocket landed in a military base south of Ashkelon Thursday morning.
The troops were hurt by shrapnel and will be taken to hospital for treatment. The wounded soldiers include lieutenant colonel Yossi Drori, a battalion commander in the Givati Brigades, and his deputy.
Several minutes after the rocket attack, IDF troops directed massive artillery fire at northern Gaza Qassam launching. One Palestinian was killed by an Israeli shell, Palestinian sources reported. The man was identified as Ibrahim Na’ame.
So, the PA has not done a damned thing to stop the rocket fire. I am unsurprised. But Condi Rice should stop lying and telling us that Abbas is cracking down on terrorists. He is decidedly not.
