EATAPETA Day: March 15th is a week away

This year’s International Eat A Tasty Animal for PETA Day, which is only a week away, is going to be the first time in four years that it’s a stealth EATAPETA Day.

By this time last year, we had banners, posters, extremely un-PC photoshops and slogans. This year, we have, uh, Lair Simon flogging peta.isfullofcrap.com for all he’s worth, plus help from me, to little avail.

What, nobody wants to eat meat and piss off PETA this year? Nobody wants me to get angry comments and emails from PETA friends and fans to fisk?

People, people, people — help me out here.

Make up slogans. Post ’em. Track ’em back to this post.

Here’s one: Eat an animal. Piss off PETA.
Alex Bensky’s slogan: If it didn’t have a mother, don’t eat.
Marty’s slogan: Don’t get mad. Get eatin’.

See? That was easy. Join in.

Go over to PETA.ISFULLOFCRAP.COM and schedule your gathering. And post abput it on your blog.

IEATAPETA Day: History. Reasons why you should get together with people on March 15th. Where I’ll be on March 12th and 15th.

Come on, join the fun. It’s not really EATAPETA Day until I get my first piece of hate mail from a vegan.

Update: First logo is over on Life At Full Volume, the home of Sarah and the G. family. Yummy cow!

My family will be celebrating our 3rd EATAPETA day at Texas Roadhouse in Union City CA. As for a slogan, I’m partial to the U.S. Beef Industry’s, “We LOVE vegetarians. More beef for us.” (And in case any militant vegans are interested, I’m in perfect health with low cholesterol … thank you very much.)

I hope you’ve taken into account that the 15th is Shoshan Purim.
Are you going to get dressed up for the PETAfest?

  3. Sabba Hillel says:

I will consider our Purim Seuda as part of the celebration. PETA is just a subsidiary of Amalek in any case.

  4. chsw says:

Cynic, Shushan Purim ends at sundown on March 15. IEATAPETA Day is an entirely new feast.

I’m planning to take a client to lunch that day at Irv’s Kosher Deli in Columbus. I chose that day davka because it was EATAPETA day.

A three-fer: Satisy for our hunger, enjoy some good company and annoy PETA, all at once!

EATAPETA, af tzu l’hachis! (just to make them mad, pronounced ahf tsulachis.)

FYI>>>Maybe EATAPETA day should be moved further down the year. The Catholic and orthodox christian calendars tend to celebrate lent during the months of MARCH and APRIL. Most Greek Orthodox give up animal products for a whole 40 days. Catholics tend not to eat terrestial animal meat on Firdays uring hte 40 days of lent.

  10. Rex says:

haven’t figured out this linking but ETAPETA reminds me of the famous duck massacre at the famous Christmas Place Plantation Hunting Club.

  11. Michael says:

I love small animals; there texture and taste are much more succulent!

  12. Harrison says:

What? Is no one gonna’ start a Carnival of the Carnivores?

  13. Liana says:

That reminds me…. Last year a friend of mine ended up eating meat on that day, but he’s concerned that since he didn’t do it lishma, it might not count. What do the sages have to say about this?

  14. Sarah G. says:

    I put my logo up!

  15. Dave says:

Since this is the time of year we rurals head afield to trap small defenseless animals and tear their skins off, the menu at our house will include Marsh Rabbit. Parboiled and roasted over an open flame, they taste just like Muskrat.

saw a pickup truck once with two stickers on the rear window. one said “Kill It, Then Grill It” and the other said “PETA” I thought that was a pretty odd juxtaposition of stickers until I got close enough to read the PETA sticker. In small letters below, it said, “People Easting Tasty Animals…”

  18. Jake says:

March 15th is also Hungarian Independence Day, so celebrate with a good paprika-intensive meat stew. Central Europeans do fine things with hunks of dead beast.

As is becoming traditional, I will be heading to Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse for a 24 oz. cut of prime rib. On Wednesdays, CB’s gives you a free shrimp cocktail with every prime rib dinner. More meat for me!
