Yes, but on the other hand…

It seems that Israeli government, when it is formed, has its work cut out for it.

As Jerusalem Post reports, Hamas wants to negotiate:

Hamas sources warned on Thursday that if Israel did not begin its negotiations with the Palestinians, they would return to their armed struggle.

apparently their will to make peace is so strong they will not hesitate to kill for it.

Furthermore, Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh announced in his inauguration on Wednesday that all members of his government were “potential shahids (martyrs).”

That is an announcement to be applauded. So, let’s go for peace negotiations, why don’t we?

But, on the other hand, as Haaretz says:

Meanwhile, the armed groups in Gaza, including ones from Fatah, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Resistance Committees, announced they would continue their armed struggle against Israel. Islamic Jihad, which launched a Katyusha rocket into Israel on Tuesday, announced it also had Russian-made Grad missiles, and that it intended to increase its launches into Israel.

Quite a quandary, isn’t it? Kill you if you wouldn’t negotiate, kill you if you would.

Go figure…

So give them what they want. Let them all die as shahids. That way everyone gets what they want. Israel gets to live in peace and security and they get to discover that their leaders lied about the 72 virgins.

Oh, I guess they won’t get what they want after all… Never mind

  2. Readiness is all that is required, Sabba.
They will be called to fulfill their mission, when the time comes…

Israel should reply that if Hamas wants to negotiate they must stop all the terror atacks first. That should keep them busy with a nice civil war for a couple of years if they actually try it.

I’m sure the cabinet’s desire for martyrdom can be fulfilled. Let them line up in a clear, open spot at a preset time and find out if Israel has any Hellfire missiles left. As Sabba saus, that way everybody is happy.

It is a curious thing but becoming a terrorist in the Arab Middle East is a ratinal career choice, at any rate for the ones who do not become suicide bombers. As we see from the election of Hamas terrorists to the PA Cabinet, not to mention Arafat’s embezzling of a billion dollars, it is also a route to social and economic advancement. A means for the circulation of elites, so to speak.
