Say, fellow Richmonders: Who wants to go see United 93 when it opens next week?
I think it’s a good film to see with a group of people. Because I’m quite sure I’m going to need my Kleenex by the end.

I think it’s a good film to see with a group of people. Because I’m quite sure I’m going to need my Kleenex by the end.
I think I’m going to make myself see it whenever it opens here in Missouri. But instead of Kleenex, I’ll probably just drive home and get blasted on cheap booze.
I do hope that it is an unbiased view of what happened on the plane. Lets hope the historian for the website is not the screen writer (excerps from the website):
“They won back Constantinople (which changed hands several times before the modern day name change of Istanbul) and took Serbia in the key Battle of Kosovo where the Ottoman army met the Serb’s Christian forces.”
“Then, in 1683, the Ottomans went on the offensive again and took Austria in the decisive Battle of Vienna. This resulted in even more influence given to the Ottoman Empire in the state of European politics. There were now two equally powerful sides and a widening gulf between what would later be called the East and West.”
“Jihad is an idea that goes back to Muhammad and means “struggle.†Taken to an extreme, jihad can mean holy war against those who do not adhere to Islamic faith. ”
I am sure anyone who has read alot of history may raise an eyebrow to the slant, errors & insinuations in each of these sentences. I’ll be unhappy if this movie is hijacked by the apologists and get a result similiar to the Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania.
