Is anyone having problems seeing the blogroll on the right-hand side of the main page? If so, please tell me what browser and which version you are using. It may be a browser thing, or it may be something that I did a while back to the right column.
Update 12:30 p.m.: Well, you were right. There were a number of scripts and strange things in EricJ’s “Urgent Request For Donations” post. I found the first few, but looked more carefully when you all said it was a problem for you, and discovered that I am truly blind. There were, like, a hundred or two of them. Escape characters, javascripts that don’t exist, line endings with the slash-n command—hoo-boy, what a bunch of garbage. Let that be a lesson to us not to cut and paste into WordPress without first either switching to the plain text editor or putting it into something that will strip out the junk. TextPad comes to mind.
What threw me off was the comment saying it has been bad for weeks. I’ve been playing with various things in the sidebars, and thought I’d done something.
Things are all fixed now. And folks, please don’t hesitate to tell me that the display is all screwed up. I use Firefox and forget to check it in IE when I’m home, and, well, unemployed at the moment, so no IE. So I had no way of knowing that the page simply ended at the post in question. You folks probably missed a bunch of stuff that went up earlier that day.
I am (Omniweb 5.5). The problem seems to be in Eric J’s post (Urgent…) – after David’s name, there is an odd controlcode.
I haven’t been able to view this page right in IE (6.0) for weeks. First the margins disappeared halfway down the page. Now the right one’s not there at all. And other buttons (like “Previous posts”) are also missing. It’s fine in Firefox.
And it works in the comments presentation. Just not in the main presentation. Damn. I can’t find the problem.
It’s something in the left sidebar. I’ve looked and not found anything. Worse comes to worst, I’ll strip everything out of the left sidebar and start over again.
Folks, when things like this happen, it helps if you tell me what happened, what browser you are using, and what version. You can get the version by clicking on “Help” and “About” in your top menu.

I agree with andy. The problem seemed to start with Eric J’s submitted post.
In fact, if I open Eric J’s post, the right sidebar (and much of the comments section) disappears.
Thanks Meryl,
Being that I ‘camp’ out here pretty often these days, its kinda nice to have access to all the hiking trails. :)
Thanks, Meryl. Sorry for not dropping you a line when I first noted the error; I tried from that comments page, it didn’t work, I got distracted, and then life intervened. And hey, it worked in my other browser :)
