Are you ready to take the MSNBC citizenship challenge? It’s a snap. Only one question gave me pause, and that’s because I’m not a lawyer.
Please note that I scored 100%. That’s right, baby. I’m not just a red-blooded American, but I can pass the citizenship test, too. Without errors.
Go ahead. Take the test and post your scores in the comments. I’m betting my readers all score pretty high, too.
And an early Happy Fourth to me.
I got 95%. I didn’t know the naturalization form.
Personally, I think that one doesn’t blong on the test. You might as well ask about the IRS form number for farm subsidies. That’s the kind of information you look up if you need it and serves absolutely no purpose at any other time.
I got 95% as well.
One hundred percent here too Meryl. I figured an application would have to come before the petition.
Curiously enough, they did not have the question I assured my Chinese sister-in-law would be on her citizenship test: Explain the infield fly rule.
100%, but the form did make me think.
95% The form got me too.
I only got 65%, but I’m not an American.
Yeah, it’s a no-brainer if you use logic on the form question. The one that made me pause was the chief of the Supreme Court. I had to think about that one.
100% :) WHOO!!
95%, and I’m not even a citizen.
The naturalisation form stumped me.
I speak English, have a post graduate degree, have never been in trouble with the law, and I’ve been gainfully employed in my profession for two decades.
Obviously someone like me can’t be allowed entry to the United States!
It seems that either people only comment on this one when they have 1 or none wrong, or saying that 95% is more than most people is wrong. I’d go with the former, unless it’s just that the people who read your blog are well-informed. I also got 95% and it’s just trying to decide if it should be an application or a petition for citizenship. I figured that these days it was probably a petition rather than just an application.
19 out of 20.
Another 19/20, yep the form.
Well, I got only 18 right. Not only did I miss the form one, I also missed the one about which amendment did not address voting rights. I knew it was either the 24th or the 7th (because the other two do), but couldn’t remember which. I figured the 24th, being a modern amendment, was less likely than the 7th.
But of course that was wrong.
That form question was stupid, but maybe it’s supposed to be a freebie. If you’ve gotten as far as taking the test, that’s the one you shouldknow.
Angie, you should remember that the first 10 amendments are the Bill of Rights, and that voting is not mentioned in the Bill of Rights. It’s not that one should know which were the amendments associated with voting, but to know about the Bill of Rights.
…missed one. Another form vs. petition issue.
