One of my readers forwarded me information on The Cat House, a no-kill shelter in California. So all my west coast readers can check it out and if you’re up for adopting a new kitty, well, look at these faces.
And there’s video.
And a contribution page. Kick in a couple of bucks. This woman is a saint.
We have a no-kill shelter about 50 miles from here. My dentist is a volunteer for a nearby shelter that doesn’t have a no-kill policy. She also fosters cats until they’re ready for adoption.
She’s highly critical of the no-kill shelter for 2 reasons. First, she says that disease is a major problem there. Second, she says that the only way they maintain their no-kill policy is by refusing to take in animals, which they think they’ll have a difficult time placing in homes.
She’s told me that the net result is that the rejected animals are eventually abandoned, or end up in the shelter for which she works.
