The IAF is bombing more smuggling tunnels. Good. They should do it on a daily basis. That would stop smuggling for good.
The United Nations is an ass. Note the blithe description of “exchange of prisoners,” thus equating terrorist mass-murderes with a soldier captured in an invasion of Israel.
The UN’s top Mideast envoy warned Wednesday that Gaza could erupt in renewed and more devastating violence unless there is a lasting ceasefire.
[…] Serry told council members that a durable ceasefire can only be achieved if there is broad progress including an exchange of Palestinian prisoners for Shalit, who was captured in a 2006 cross-border raid, action to prevent the smuggling of weapons into Gaza, the opening of borders, and unity among rival Palestinian factions.
Hamas holding fast to Shalit: What with the entire world insisting that opening the borders and returning Shalit are two separate issues, Hamas is going to keep holding fast. That, and the fact that they’re a bunch of insane Jew-hating terrorists will preclude a deal anytime soon. But when they do, prepare to see mass murderers set free—again.
The UAE backs down: They banned Shahar Pe’er from the women’s tournament, lost advertising, lost television play on The Tennis Channel, and earned worldwide condemnation—so the UAE is allowing the Israeli men’s player to take part in the tournament. Too little, too late. Throw them out of the tennis club. In fact, throw any nation that bans Israelis out of the organizations that sponsor the tournaments. But of course, this doesn’t happen. Iran is not punished for forfeiting matches against Israel. The UAE won’t be punished by Barclays, which is sponsoring the tournament. Funny, I can’t find a thing in their news section about the banning of Shahar. And she’s not listed in their players list, either. And the WTA has no intention of stopping the tournament. Shades of boycotts past.
