President for life of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak claims to know how to Achieve Israeli-Palestinian peace. Of course it would be easier to take if he didn’t claim the mantle of “reform.” But President Mubarak at once claims to be committed to bringing peace to the Middle East and that he is trying to achieve reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah. Well here’s a flash from Peacemakingn 101: bringing an implacable foe into the peace process (such as it is) will give said foe increased leverage and won’t bring peace any closer.

If you read the op-ed in full, you come away with the impression that he really is saying—nothing. At least, that was my impression.
Waste of ink.
Interestingly enough, the English word hosanna (from the Xian Greek) has come to mean “praise”, while the original Hebrew, Hoshana, means “pleassave” or “Save now”. Since Hosni Mubarak neither deserves praise, nor is capable of (nor willing to) “saving” us or the Egyptians, he is definitely not worthy of having the term applied to him. In the correct meaning, there is only One that the term can be applied to.
