So, a week or two after telling my cousin from San Diego that the pictures I have of last year’s snowstorm are so rare for the Richmond area, we get—a huge snowstorm. And it’s not supposed to stop until late tonight or tomorrow. I’ve got about seven inches of snow on my deck and driveway so far. I’m going to have breakfast and head out a little later. Have to find my Flip video camera too, so I can take another movie of Tig going out on the deck in the snow. And last, but not least, the birdseed my friend gave me for a housewarming gift will make another appearance, this time in paper bowls, so the birds can have something to eat. Ah, snow. This one is going to shut down the mid-Atlantic. Of course, the good news is that Congress can’t vote on healthcare if they’re shut down. (Update: They’re apparently not shut down. Call your senators and complain today.)

Stay warm please and dry.
Wow.
The first socialist state of Chicago only got flurries- but we have saying here in Chi-Town(besides vote early-vote often): If you don’t like the weather-wait a minute…it’ll change.
I prescribe hot cocoa with lashings of whipped cream.
What do the cats think of the snow?
I tried the yard stick and got between 12 and 15 inches just outside my front dorr. Should be interesting on Monday morning. (Baltimore).
To Elisson’s wise and good prescription, I add: warm, purring cats on your lap.
Gracie doesn’t set foot outside anymore. She lost interest after Tig died. She used to go out on my patio in the old apartment, but nowadays, her demesne is my office, my bedroom, and the bathroom (for petting in and drinking water from the sink). I tried to get Tig interested, but then I put on my new boots and he freaked out because, well, they’re new. And different. So he hid upstairs while I went out to take pictures and see how deep the snow was around my building.
I’m going to shovel my neighbor’s walk this morning, so I may get him interested in coming outside. I’m also considering whether or not to shovel my deck. It’s only seven inches of snow, so I’m inclined to not bother. I may make a path to put out birdseed, though.
Heading out to Sarah’s today. I has a Jeep. We laugh in the face of snow! (Well, at least, in seven inches of snow. A couple of feet, no, I wouldn’t bother.)
Watch out for incompetent nutjob drivers when driving. That is the greatest danger when trying to drive in snow.
I love having an indoor garage.
