I totally forgot about EATAPETA Day until Sabba Hillel reminded me. There have been a lot of things on my mind lately that rather drove it out, but don’t forget to eat lots of tasty animals on March 15th!
Here’s the background.
PETA’s still as offensive as ever. I will be dining with friends on Monday night. I think veal may be on the menu.
On March 15th your motto should be: If It Didn’t Have a Mother It’s Not On My Menu.
I’ve already got my menu for the day set: Turkey sausage for breakfast. Just to show PETA where I stand, I’m going to have a hamburger at McDonald’s for lunch. Dinner–depends if that afternoon I’m finding lambies, duckies, or doe-eyed calves to be cuter. (I don’t eat rabbit but if I did, that would certainly be a consideration.) The cuter the better.
UIf there’s anyoneone in the Detroit area, post your contact information here and we’ll find some place to chow down on something that was once animate.
Though I’m basically conservative the only reason I’m not a vegetarian is because I got very sick last year when I tried it. I haven’t had veal in about 25 years. My mother was the editor of a college newspaper and she ran an ad showing how the calves were treated. I’ve told my mother-in-law and husband that if they bring veal in the house I’m giving it a funeral in the back yard. I’m thinking about employing the same method toward mother in law and her lamb chops. I don’t think it’ll work though. LoL.
Eating babies is just wrong.
On 4/15 I’ll either eat fish or vegetarian all day.
Meat will definitely be on the menu at Chez Elisson this Monday.
Since whale bacon is difficult to obtain here in the States, I’ll have to settle for something less exotic. A fine rib-eye steak, perhaps… bone-in, to remind me that it did not grow on the Meat-Bush (as the Mistress of Sarcasm would like to believe). But a nice duckie or lambie would be a pleasant alternative…
Okay-I put 4/15 rather than 3/15.
Maybe I’ll go to the store and pray over the shark steaks.
Sharks are my favorite animal and yes-I have discreetly done that before.
My poor husband just shakes his head.
My doctor will kill me, but here goes:
A fresh ground-beef chili-cheese bacon burger with guacamole.
I’ll be celebrating from here. I’d like to request pics of carnivores in honor of the day as well — specifically, two feline carnivores known as Tig and Gracie.
There’s a great tapas restaurant in Alexandria, Las Tapas on King St (between South Washington and South Columbus), they serve all kinds of creatures and they’re very tasty.
Their lamb, veal, quail and rabbit are especially excellent.
I’ll have to have dinner there Monday.
EATAPETA is one of my favorite celebrations.
