A fitting one for Friday night. Leonard Cohen toured Israel last year, ignoring calls for him to boycott the Jewish state, what with his being a religious Jew and all that. The result? What was probably a religious experience for his 47,000 fans.

My Eldest was at that concert. She had a wonderful time (I was amazed that she’d even heard of him). She has since started her army service, making us proud.
Wow. Have that many years passed since you first mentioned Eldest on your blog? Hey, email me where she’s serving and we’ll send her unit pizza for the IDF. (Or anyone who feels like sending IDF soldiers pizza and junk food can just click that link and do it.)
Leonard is always a treat! I am moved by his music whenever I hear it. I don’t think anyone compares to him. The only memorable performance for me on the whole American Idol this season was when Lee the eventual winner sang “Hallelujah” which was chosen for him by Simon who wanted him to win. I believe that song won it for him. Thanks for making my day!
