And the word “Muslim” does not appear in this news story: French immigrants of “North African” descent attacked and badly beat a Jew for being a Jew. I think they meant to attack him for being a Zionist, and the newspaper got the story wrong. I mean, Muslims don’t attack Jews because they’re Jews. Just ask anyone, even the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood. It isn’t Jews they hate. This man was obviously a Zionist.
Lesson learned, for now: Hamas has stopped firing rockets. And the U.S. will be helping Israel fund more Iron Dome systems. But it’s only just the latest round in the long war.
They were open? Who knew? Wait a minute, I thought the Gaza crossings were all closed and the evil Israelis were totally isolating the Gazans. (This, despite the fact that the Egyptian border is totally controlled by, duh, Egypt.) Well, they’re still closed due to the rocket attacks. And yet, no howls from the Free Gaza flotilla fools. Go figure.
Stay tuned: The IDF is closing in on the Fogel family murderers.
The man in the glass booth: You can see the Eichmann trial—all of it—on YouTube. Watch the man lie through his teeth as he insists he was not the architect of the Holocaust. Really, I can’t believe they hanged him. They should have set him to the same conditions as the concentration camp inhabitants.
The next step in the 1949 borders: The Palestinians are about to submit a report that proves they are capable of governing themselves. The plan to force Israel to accept all the Palestinian requirements without having the Palestinians actually negotiate a peace moves forward.
Back in 1983, Commentary excerpted Avner Less’s account of his interrogation of Eichmann. There’s one incident that still amazes me.
There is unexpected drama in the relationship between the police captain and his prisoner. Eichmann respected his interrogator while trying to save his own neck. He felt that one uniform was speaking to another, that rank had its privileges, even for a prisoner. The reader watches for the cat-and-mouse interplay. When Captain Less tells him that his father had been deported to Auschwitz by Eichmann’s own headquarters, Eichmann opens his eyes wide and cries out: ”But that’s horrible, Herr Captain! That’s horrible!”
Was he that clueless?
