Sunday quick links

And we can prove it, too: Benjamin Netanyahu will remind the UN that Jews have been in Israel for thousands of years.

I knew there was something I didn’t like about IKEA to begin with: The founder was a Nazi. Yeah, your furniture sucks, too.

How’m I doing? Ed Koch warns Obama he’s going to stay on his case about Israel. Awesome, Mr. Mayor. Go get ‘im.

Cutting off its nose: Awesome. Turkey is going to freeze ties with the EU if Cyprus gains the rotating presidency. Go, Cyprus!

Do you get the feeling that Turkey will never become a member of the EU? Yeah, me too.

I don’t even want to fisk it: Tom Friedman’s latest column on Israel, where he blames pretty much everything on Netanyahu, even after saying it’s not Israel’s fault that Egypt is imploding and Erdogan is scapegoating and demagoguing Israel. Seriously, does his editor ever say to him, “Uh, Tom, you just contradicted your main points there”?

Obviously not.

I saw that Friedman article linked somewhere with a comment about how “It’s not Israel’s fault” and in what, the third line?, he blames Netanyahu.
I stopped reading. Friedman’s “conventional wisdom” columns with idiocy passed off as “wisdom” are just annoying to me.
There’s a reason I stopped reading the Times in about 2002 or so.
