This is what Meimei is doing right now.
I throw the ball down the stairs, she brings it back. Then I do it again. And again. And again.
She is a happy kitty, albeit one that is evidently part dog.

That photo makes me want to “fetch” Meimei — that is, scoop her up and give her a cuddle.
Her markings are unique, she is developing into a splendid looking katz.
Is Tig playing with her after her ‘procedure’?
Would love to see more video of the two of them in action.
He’s playing with her, but not as frequently as before. They haven’t been able to re-sync their play schedules. I haven’t gotten any new video of the two of them, but I have plenty of Meimei playing fetch with the ball and her chains as well. I’ll get them up when I get some time.
How adorable! I think it’s a girl-kitty thing, or maybe an Oriental-breed girl-kitty thing, because my brother’s female Siamese and my female Tonkinese-Balinese did a lot of fetching when young. Not dignified, but I was sad when they outgrew it.
I’m thinking it’s about learning to bring back prey for the kittens to practice on. Not sure why it’s stops, though – maybe it’s just extinguished if it isn’t used for its proper purpose within a certain timeframe.
Oh, no, it’s going to stop? Well, I’d better keep on getting those videos. She’s only about six months old, though. I expect I have a way to go before she stops.
Then again, she may never stop. I had a cat that fetched all of her life. She was just a grey and white female, no breed.
It is not a “female” katz trait, at least in my personal experience.
My previous Siamese male kitty fetched until almost the time he died at 19.5 years, and my current male Siamese is going on seven years and still loves to fetch.
Continue to shower Meimei with praise when she fetches and hopefully, she will continue to do so.
Yay! Good to know it’s a Siamese thing, because we’re both enjoying her games of fetch.
