I’ve had a busy weekend. Four more chapters were placed into the “finished” category. I’m also just about done typesetting a friend’s novel, which will be published in a few weeks. I’ve got someone working on the cover of book two for me, and the March publishing date is looking like it’s going to happen.
I did the math and discovered that I’ve been averaging about 572 words a day since I restarted my push to finish the novel in late December. I’d like to double that average, but that’s not going to happen until I can start writing full-time. I am, however, going to push to finish book 3–if at all possible–by the end of 2014. I think it’s going to depend on my day job. If I finish the day exhausted, the writing suffers. Then again, I have leave again, and can start taking time off. I was taking every Wednesday off towards the end of book one to get it finished in time. Three day weekends work better, though. I can get a lot done if I’ve got all day to do it in.
Well, we shall see. Book two will be out soon, and I’ll see if I can’t get some buzz going this time around. If you have friends or relatives who liked the Harry Potter series, send them my way. They might enjoy The Catmage Chronicles, too.
