You know that Geico caveman commercial? The hilarious one where the Geico spokesman insults two cavemen and winds up having to take them out for an apology dinner?
There are three of them.
Update: YouTube removed some of them. Bummer.
Last.
They’ll all show up in the YouTube sidebar, but there are the individual links just in case.
I love that last one. I can’t stop laughing, no matter how many times I’ve seen it.
The last one…has such a gay undertone, on the cavemen part…maybe that’s why Neaderthal cavemen died out? LOL
Someone called them the “metrosexual” cavemen. You have to agree with that one.
Yep, I would. LOL
This link is for the video that bundles all three commercials into one clip: http://tinyurl.com/n4ahj
You like them? Really?
I think they’re the dumbest commercials I’ve seen in a long time. Passably amusing for a one-shot ad, but too-lightweight for a whole campaign.
I think my main problem with it is the premise: “So easy even a caveman can do it” is a dumb comment that no one would ever say UNLESS they were setting up a joke like this.
Yes. I really like them.
And I love elephant jokes, too. I can never get enough of elephant jokes.
Humor is an intensely subjective thing. Well, except for the Three Stooges. That’s a gender thing.
3 Stooges? Are you talking about that one episode of The Pretender, by any chance?
Thanks for posting this. My wife loves those commercials, too, and I’ll show her when she gets home from working at Eddie Bauer (which she enjoys a great deal less than working for her own store).
I didn’t watch the Pretender.
I am referring to the fact that most women stop liking the Three Stooges as they grow up. Most men still think they’re funny as adults.
Please note I am not insulting men’s intelligence or sophistication or even maturity (though I reserve the right to do so in the future). I am simply observing what most people know: Most men never outgrow the Three Stooges’ humor.
The only explanation is that it’s a gender thing.
(Cue list of outraged men who didn’t read this comment and explain how much they hate the Stooges, or always hated the Stooges, and I shouldn’t make sweeping generalizations. Also list of grown women who like the Stooges.)
Oh, ok. There was an episode of The Pretender where Jared is at a diner and introduced to the 3 Stooges for the first time on the bar TV. The guy working the counter tells him it’s great, but the woman two seats down from him says that it’s a lousy show that only men seem to like. Jared nods thoughtfully and says he’ll check it out.
The expression on his face as he watches is marvelous. The smile starts with a twitch at the corners of his mouth, then works its way up to his eyes. The woman just sighs and shakes her head when he starts laughing.
I think it’s pretty much universal. I think they’re pretty funny, but my wife (and my sister, too, come to think of it) find them about as humorous as Ted Koppel reading a phone book.
