Abbas has let loose the hounds of Fatah.
Forces loyal to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah were ordered Tuesday evening to defend their positions in the Gaza Strip, and counter a “coup” by rival Hamas Islamists.
Hamas, stepping up a rapidly expanding power struggle, on Tuesday afternoon launched attacks against installations of security forces allied to Fatah, seizing a number of smaller positions and laying seige to others.
“Advance, our forces! Confront the seekers of the coup. Defend your dignity and your military honour. Defend the security of your people,” the command of Abbas’ National Security Forces said in a statement issued in Gaza.
The statement giving the order described Hamas as a “bloody party which is launching a coup against the president and against the authority and national unity government.”
Witnesses said they saw vehicles carrying members of the National Security Forces to battles in western and northern Gaza City.
Now things should get interesting. Once again, we emphasize that we hope both parties win. Huge body counts, boys. We want to see a lot of dead terrorists. Leave the civilians alone, please.
A Civil War!!! Oh no, will the Dems make the US withdraw its “occupying forces”? Oh, we don’t have forces in Gaza. Well what can the EU do? I know what, let’s give Hamas 4 million euros so they won’t run out of bullets
LOL…Ok who to root for?
“Coup. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
Robert:
Root for both, obviously. The more dead terrorists the better.
Hamas will win this one, though. They are mored dedicated, ruthless, and fanatic, and they are backed by Iran. If something isn’t done, it is only a matter of time before they take over Judea and Samaraia also. That will put Iranian proxies on Israel’s borders on all fronts. Regradless of what the best way to engage these proxies might be, Israel needs to be ready for what could very well be a four front war (if you include Syria). If Jordan has any sense, they will cooperate with Israel on making sure that Hamas doesn’t get the upper hand in Judea and Samaria.
But in the meantime, rock on. Twenty dead in the latest round is promising, but we’re still a few digits off. I want to see deaths numbering in the hundreds, at least.
Root for both? I say root for neither. For me it’s like the Iran-Iraq War or the 2000 World Series…I want both sides to lose ignominiously.
Who to root for?
Whoever is behind at the moment, of course. Let the FolksWhoAreOverlyFriendlyWithTheirOwnMommies kill each other.
(Hey, Meryl? Your blog; your rules — would it have been okay to use the term I meant?)
Yup. Swearing in the comments is not a problem. Unless it’s the c-word. I hate that one.
Well, since in the context of war, “win” is usually taken to mean killing more of the enemy than they kill of you, in this sense I want both sides to “win” since this will mean more dead terrorists.
Of course, if both sides “lose”, it would accomplish the same thing.
So let’s just say that I am rooting for both sides to fight all the way down to the last terrorist.
The Israel can just give whoever he is a Hellfire enema, and that will be the end of it.
Yeah, unrealistic, I know. But a guy can dream, can’t he?
Meryl, I wouldn’t any of call those motherfuckers a “coyote” — that would be an insult to perfectly nice carrion eaters.
How about calling them a bunch of Coulters?
1. Eric, that insults all those bony people who are suspected to be bulimic/anorexic.
2. Let’s wish Hamas, Fatah, PIJ, and the entire Palestinian Arab populace of Gaza, Judea and Samaria the very best of luck.

No, even I couldn’t insult Coulter that way. I mean, I can’t stand the woman, but no, I won’t associate her with terrorists.
I forgot #3: CORRECTION: Abbas has let loose the chihuahuas of Fatah.
chsw
I’ll bet you dollars against a doughnut someone will blame Israel for “instigating” their mutual violence before this is over with…
Robert
Remember the free passage of Egyptian equipment, arms, and ammunition to Fatah? Hamas just captured all of it.
Olmert is thinking of sending more.
“Armed Palestinian groups have committed serious violations of international humanitarian law during recent fighting in the Gaza Strip, in some cases amounting to war crimes, Human Rights Watch said Wednesday morning.”
I’m surprised they noticed. They never noticed when they did the same to Jooooz.
* ****** **** ****** *
From a Jerusalem Post Talkback: “Let’s wish both sides success: Hamas turns Fatah to fodder and Fatah turns Hamas to humus.”
May both sides have a lot of success against each other. They should be like the Kilkenny cats.
There once were two cats of Kilkenny’
Each thought there was one cat too many
So they fought and they fit
And they scratched and they bit
‘Til instead of two cats there weren’t any!
I am afraid Ephraim is right, and not just because Hamas is more dedicated, ruthless, and fanatic, and they are backed by Iran. Fatah is just in it for the money, i.e. whatever they can steal from the Palestinian people and put in their pockets. But as long as Fatah is focused on killing Hamas leaders I believe both the US and Israel should help them. Maybe if they both go at each other long enough, there will be few enough on either side left alive, and the suppressed people in both Gaza and the West Bank can overthrow their oppressors (Fatah AND Hamas) and make true peace with Israel.
The one good thing that is happening is that the Western world is finally waking up and seeing what these savages are capable of. These barbarians have zero regard for anyone that is not in their gang at the time, be it Jew, Christian, or their Moslem sect.
My concern is that one of these bastards will commit a horrible terrorist act against Israel, forcing a severe reaction, then uniting the savages against Israel in another cycle of death.
