U.N. Chicken Little: Gaza is falling! Gaza is falling!

Yet another UN cry that Gaza is going to collapse in on itself due to the shutdowns of the crossings, and yet another article that manages to convey the dire warnings even while writing how needed food and goods are still being supplied to Gaza.

Israel sealed the main commercial crossing, Karni, in June after the takeover of Gaza by Hamas, which it considers a terrorist organization. Although basic foodstuffs, medicines and other essential supplies have been taken into Gaza through smaller crossings, some Gaza factories have closed because of a lack of raw materials, and no agricultural produce or other exports have been allowed out. All goods passing in and out of Gaza have to pass through Israel.

I wonder how many articles about the impending doom of Gaza in the last two years this makes. Thirty? Forty? Fifty?

I’ve lost track.

One Response to U.N. Chicken Little: Gaza is falling! Gaza is falling!

  1. Michael Lonie says:

Hamas rules Gaza. Hamas is at war with Israel. Hamas constantly declares its intention to prosecute this war until Israel is destroyed and its Jewish population massacred. Israel would be within its rights to cut off everything to Gaza. Instread they provide goodies for those who would kill them. Let the UN put pressure on Hamas if they want to improve the situation, the onus is not on Israel to be so kind to those who would commit genocide.
