New York City is having a unique tribute to Rosa Parks’ refusal to sit in the back of the bus 50 years ago today:
In a tribute to civil rights icon Rosa Parks, the front passenger seat of every one of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s city and Long Island buses will remain open today to commemorate the 50th anniversary of her act of civil disobedience.
[…] On MTA buses, a poster titled “It All Started On a Bus” will be posted above a front seat of each bus and will highlight Park’s historic stand.
A very fitting tribute to a woman of valor.
What if someone tries to honr her by insisting on sitting in that seat and refusing to change?
