When the right meets the terrorists: Shame!

These people should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves, and you will see calls throughout Israel saying as much:

Jewish extremists prayed for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s death following the prime minister’s arrival at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital after suffering a mild stroke.

Upon receiving word of Sharon’s hospitalization, members of the extreme right Kahane Chai (Lives) group began to hold prayers calling for God “to rid them Sharon,” who they referred to as a “dictator.”

One extremist told Ynet that the “special prayers” were aimed at preventing Sharon from “causing further damage to Israel.”

However, the rightists said they do not necessarily wish death on the prime minister, but that they would like to see him “go to a hotel or a home for the elderly, but not return to politics.”

[…] The head of the United Jewish Front right-wing extremist party, Baruch Marzel, called on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to take time off politics and leave to a long vacation or to a house for the elderly.

These people won’t feel ashamed of themselves, nor will you see anyone in their society saying they should be:

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired celebration shots upon hearing the news of Sharon being hospitalized.

A member of the Popular Resistance Committees told Ynet that Sharon fell unwell because of the stress caused by the latest wage of Qassam rockets over the last few days. “God answered our prayers and didn’t disappoint us,” he said.

How sick is it that Kahane Chai and the UJF are on the same side as the terrorists?

Disgusting.

A thought occurs, however. If God didn’t disappoint the terrorists, how is it that Ariel Sharon isn’t dead?

Asshats.

You’re absolutely right, Meryl. It’s disgusting. However one feels about Sharon’s policies, there is no excuse for this kind of sick rejoicing.

  2. Cynic says:

Jewish extremists prayed for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s death following the prime minister’s arrival at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital after suffering a mild stroke.

and don’t forget that it was this type of mentality that threw nails and oil on freeways in Israel to protest the ‘Disengagement’.
They are no better the Jihadists because they are so willing to sacrifice the lives of others for their political interests.
Like the jihadists they only know one thing and that is violence. Certainly no criteria for running a creative, progressive and vibrant state.

Their actual message can be seen to be similar to Bishara’s message to Israel:
Directing his speech at Israelis, Bishara said, “Return Palestine to us and take your democracy with you. We Arabs are not interested in it.”

There would be no democracy within the hatred they engender.

Actually, looking at what is said in the story, I am somewhat suspicious as to what actually happened. The only quotes were from one person who said that Sharon should retire from politics and someone else who said that his illness could help prevent further wrongheaded policies from damaging the state (his opinion of the policies). Based on the way the media tends to report the “right wing”, I wonder if they actually did pray for his death.

As far as the murderers, they would rejoice whenever anything bad happens to a Jew. They would even rejoice if something happened to Yossi Beilin.

  4. The Doctor says:

Actually, this is not the first time the extremist wackos have prayed for a divine curse on Sharon; the same bozos put a death curse on Rabin; after the assassination they said “we didn’t do it, and there’s no such thing as incitement; we feel no guilt.”

    Size 9 asshats…

  5. “How sick is it that Kahane Chai and the UJF are on the same side as the terrorists?”

Knowing both sides up close and personal, why I am not surprised?

The only consolation is that the number of freaks on our side is negligible compared to that of their Palestinian counterpart.

And do not forget Caustic Soda against the soldiers.

  7. They are just fundamentalist loons no different from the Christian variety in the US or Northern Ireland (or anywhere else). Not the slightest bit surprising alas.
