Lou Ferrigno, who played the Hulk in the TV series, is joining the Los Angeles County police force.
Have no fear, citizens, the Hulk is packing heat.
Lou Ferrigno, the bodybuilding champ who played Dr. Banner’s bigger half in the 1970s TV series, The Incredible Hulk, will be sworn in Monday night as a Los Angeles County reserve deputy sheriff.
As a member of law enforcement in good standing, Ferrigno will be issued a badge, a baton and a gun — a Beretta 92FS, per the sheriff’s department Website.
“He’s only authorized to carry [the weapon] when he’s working in the capacity as a reserve deputy,” said Jeffrey Prang, special assistant to Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca.
Of course, I had to ask the real Hulk what he thought about this. He was not pleased.
Bah! Hulk not need gun. That not real Hulk. Guns are for puny humans. Puny human not even really green. Had to paint self green to pretend to be Hulk. Hulk not like that show, anyway. Stupid Banner was in show most of the time, almost no Hulk at all. That Hulk was small! Hulk much bigger than that. Hulk like movie Hulk better. But Hulk can still beat movie Hulk. Hulk is the strongest one there is!
Fake Hulk stupid. Have stupid haircut, too. Make Hulk look stupid. Hulk not stupid! Hulk smash anyone make Hulk look stupid!
Thanks a lot for sending me that story, Lair. The Hulk broke my sofa again when he tried to sit in it.
A familiar story…but Hulk told me:
“TV Hulk not legitimate. Not real Banner. Not real first name Banner. Real Banner could have smashed puny investigative reporter. Hulk smash DVD of show when it comes out, too.”
um… was I the only one that was bothered by the fact that the man is DEAF and has a position like this?? seems like a potential problem, no??
